just thought I would share this with you all, this is from when I was Drum Major with a local Pipes and Drum band which I retired from 3 years ago

Wow thats pretty impressive! where abouts was that? So do you not play anymore, or just not in that band?

the band is located in Hastings in East Sussex which is 23 miles from my home, and that was taken in Jersey (channel islands).

No I don't play anymore, really due to my Army injury being aggrevated by all the marching etc, but I did enjoy it, we played all over the UK, Spain, Belgium and the Channel Islands, I still have the uniform except the Feather Bonnet, I was the only Drum Major to wear a white Bonnet, and of course they are made of Ostrich Feathers, this made the Bonnet twice the price of the Back Bonnets because the are not mant white feathers on an Ostrich, the cost of the Bonnet was £375, and when I retired from the band I donated it to the band.

As you can see, I am a rather large fellow and quite rotund, I always say that to make a kilt for me, it takes the wool of 3 flocks of sheep :) :shock: I have2 kilts, 1 Macintyre Hunting Tartan and the other Royal Stewart
