Books about Lairds? (There are quite a few)

Postby Reverend Lady Mathew » Sat Jan 24, 2009 4:30 am

HI all,
It would seem there are quite a few books out there about Lairds.
Has anyone read them? Here are some of the titles that a quick
search came up with:
--Tales from Scottish Lairds, by Elizabeth Fraser (evidently about
specific Scottish castles and life around and in them.)
--The Laird of Norlaw, Margaret Maitland
--When the Laird Returns, Karen Ranney (part of a series)
--Laird, by Juliana Garnet
--Land and the Laird (Harlequin Historical 127), Maura Seger
--The Laird's French Bride, Judith Stewart
--The MacLean Groom: Highland Lairds Triology, Kathleen Harrington
--The Laird's Lady (Harlequin HIstorical), Joanne Rock
--------------------------------------------------------------------------------
I'm probably going to start with reading the very first one but
would imagine that the Harlequin ones would also give a
great bit of history coupled of course with romance.
Maybe all we Lairds and Ladys ought to start stocking our
bookshelves with LAIRD books? Sincerely, Lady M
Reverend Lady Mathew

And for general trivia, did you know there are hotels and places with the NAME Lord in them? Case in point: Lords of the Manor.
---------------------------------------------------
This is a hotel in England.
--Lord of the Manor---
Cheltenham, Glouchestershire
GL54 2JD
It appears to be a former rectory built in
1650. Suitable for a Laird to stay one would think.

Sincerely, Lady M :!:
